hey guys im looking to buy a ultra wide monitor

i will be using it mostly for gaming, mostly mmo's

what is the best one i can get?

so far ive looked at phillips. lg , asus and aoc and nec and dell but they all look pretty much the same..

which one is better and why?

if i had to guess id say the LG or asus ones are best but i dont know

im runnign with 2x sli 560ti and 4.6ghz overclocked i5 2500k so i should be able to run the res

Well, i just had the asus one from overclockers today. I can say for MMOs and strategy games, it's really good. Colours look good, good build quality. One green stuck pixel on the very left, but it's impossible to notice while playing.
Since your system should have no problem pushing that many pixels, you might want to take into account pixel clock overclocking. Using EVGA precision X, i can get this one to run smoothly at 80hz, and it looks much better.
Im running a gtx770 and an I7 3820

I'm concidering these too, but I've not seen a review of the asus yet.

I wouldn't touch the L.G yet until the new revisions of the panel reach the UK hopefully might take on some of the improvements noted in the anandtech review here

I'm intrested in the AOC or the Dell at this point. But its reported the AOC has lower input lag. Can't make my mind up either.

i have the dell, been running it at 75hz practically out of the box, can't say a bad word about it when it comes to gaming and movies.

Picture quality should be largely the same as long as the OSD allows you to change settings i.e. RGB levels. The only differences between them will be things like height adjustment connectivity and input lag (internal scaler to blame?).

I've only used the dell 29" and for me at least the input lag is low enough for me not to blame it when playing fps online :D. Height adjustment was important for me as some screens without it will be too low.

Dell warranty was also a big factor for me as I know should any problem arise I can get in touch and get a replacement sorted very quickly.

You can't really go wrong whichever you choose, they all contain very good ips panels.

ps: I think you should go with the Dell ;)

I've got the AOC Q2963PM - very happy with it and it's running at 72hz no probs. I'm not noticing any lag but it replaced my dead 28" Hanns-G which isn't a superfast monitor anyway.

Stand isn't height adjustable but I just have it sitting on an 8cm tall black box.

One of the reasons for choosing the AOC is that it's confirmed as having PWM-free backlighting - I'm very sensitive to it.

These 29 inch ultra wide look cool would love to try one out first before buying just the height of the screen bit lower then I'am use too have a Dell 2407.

most people go with the dells only because of the adjustable stands, I understand there are now Lgs with the same sort of adjustable stand now.

I am to in a bind of which one to get now, although I got a month before I get mine. it is a mine field of choice ect.

Would be nice if there was a review of them all together qith a definitive answer to which one is the better one.
