Whats the best between these 2 mtb's please?

I don't wish to sound rude but... They are two expensive bikes and at that cost I would have thought they were aimed at someone more advanced than beginner?

What I mean is, if you don't know which is better are you sure you're ready for either? Are you a fairly experienced rider or just getting into it?

Years ago I used to ride bmx and did so for many years. Was well into it and pretty good.

Now im a bit older I fancy getting back into biking again and fancy a mtb. I can ride no problem it's just I'm out of date on the spec and parts etc.

Thanks.

I thought your budget was £500 :D. Most people on here would tell you that £1200 isn't a big enough budget for full sus. Any chance you'd up the budget again to £2000?

I think in terms of sell-on you'll shift the Giant better than the Scott - you have to factor that in, unless you're genuinely going to run the bike till it dies.

Yeah that was till when I went to see a few bikes. £2000 is well out of my budget unfortunately.

It just felt completely "wrong" when I hired one round Dalby. Was no fun going uphill, along the flat, wasn't right on the way down. Just felt really unstable and I hated every minute of riding it.
