The 144Hz will be a lost feature with consoles, as they indeed output only 60Hz. Same goes for G-Sync and FreeSync, I think. They require software support, which the consoles don't have. Higher resolutions are likewise empty features with consoles.
And like Psycho Sonny, I would also strongly recommend IPS (or VA). TN is primarily for fast action FPS games. The type of FPS that require mouse and keyboard, not a controller. And even in those cases, I would personally still opt for the IPS, as the benefits are far greater.
In other words, these are the features you should pay attention to:
- IPS or VA
- 1920x1080
- 60Hz
- low input lag
- HDMI input
I have one standard recommendation I often make, and nobody has come back to complain:
BenQ GW2760HS (for £180). Review
here.
Another recommendation I usually make is:
Asus SonicMaster MX279H (for £240)
But, take notice that they are from 2013 and 2012, so they're not actually "cutting edge". Then again, with consoles you wouldn't even benefit from modern features. And like said, I haven't heard anyone come back with negative complaints.
