Whats the best Footie Game?

Just wondering what you people reckon is the best, fifa 11 or pes 11?

Always found the gameplay of fifa slow for my liking, always been a pes man, but I heard the games are on the same level nowadays.

I also heard fifa 11 on pc is not the same game as on the consoles, its more of a fifa 10.5. Whereas I believe pes 11 is the exact same game thats on consoles.

I'm swerving towards pes for the faster more fluid gameplay, I think the only thing that fifa can be tempt me with is the lusher graphics. But Ive never been much of a graphics = good game person.

Can anyone settle this for me? Thanks.
 
I'm also a casual football fan, so having the real team names in fifa does help.

I can usually work it out by looking at the team logo and name but sometimes I'm stumped.
 
FIFA 11.

PES went downhill after PES6 imo. I actually liked the 2008 version, it was alright, but I owned it on Xbox 360 and the online mode (which is all I played) was so broken it was ridiculous. After that the gameplay itself got worse, to the point of playing the last demo and being really dissapointed to see how a once great series had been reduced to crap.

FIFA 08 is where things started getting better, FIFA 09 improved on this, FIFA 10 was awesome, and now FIFA 11 is pretty much perfect in my eyes.

This is all related to console versions by the way, I know FIFA on PC is different (not sure if FIFA 11 is on the console engine).
 
Both are more than adequate for graphics. I'd say play the demos for both and make your own mind up as peoples opinions on here will be split.

PES gets my vote though and I've played both games enough to cast a view.
 
I do own pes 2009, I find it a good game but the graphics are rather shocking, which does detract from the game somewhat.

I said Im not a graphics person but theyre really pretty bad for a pc game. But I dont have any other qualms about the game, its the type of gameplay I like in a footie game, fast fluid and responsive.

I've played the fifa 11 demo, I find it slow paced...I do like the authenticity and it looks to have plenty of online features which is where I would spend most of my time in a football game.

I just think pes is more for me.
 
Not big fan of football games, however installed fifa 2011 for PC and on xbox controllers played with my mates,.. graphics, moves. etc. looks very good!
 
Fifa is the best overall but it's still a terrible game. I wish someone just gave pes the rights so there is some competition. Why is it terrible; lag, bad AI, virtual pro cheats, random physics at times and so on.

The main one is the AI which makes counter attacking so easy without having to run past a single player. So there is hardly any system of defending unless the opponent doesn't counter attack.

Im a big fan of FIFA and have been since '04, I think all round FIFA has grown better as a game than PES and I also agree with most people when they say PES started to lose its touch.
 
Fifa is better on the consoles but on PC its the last gen version where as PES is the same and still a good game, This year is better than previous years.
 
I prefer Fifa 11, there's not a great deal in it though. It just feels a bit more fluid and responsive. Had always preferred PES previously.
 
Can a kind soul please link me to the newest patch for the pes 2011 dvd version?

Why cant it just auto update ingame, where is the damn thing...thanks.
 
I had PES 06 on PS2 and that was best. When I moved to PC I read PES was better than Fifa so I stuck to that. Played PES 09 and 10, but got recommended Fifa 11. Played that and I think it's better than PES, although I haven't tried PES 11. Fifa 11 is apparently Fifa 10 from consoles but I find it really enjoyable.
I think if you choose either you'll be happy with it.
