Hello peeps.

So I have a budget of around £600-£700 and would like a gaming laptop.

In an Ideal world I would like a 17" screen. There's only one game I will ever be playing on the laptop and that will be Star Trek online. The required and recommended specs are below.

Thanks very much and merry christmas.

I just got a MSI CX61. It is excellent, although it's 15.6 inch. You can get the basic one for £650. (I paid £750 for a 1080p screen and 16gb ram). It plays every game I've thrown at it so far

That's two for two for this laptop. My only concern is the single band wifi. My iphone 5 is dual core meaning the laptop my not connect to it. I don't play Star Trek online from my phone 3G signal but it would be nice to know I could do. Lol

Guessing you are referring to dual band wireless
Anyway, single band and dual band kit will ususally talk to each other, just speeds and/or range might be compromised.
Of course, you can usually quite easily replace a wireless card in most modern laptops....

How is the keyboard for extended typing?

The keyboard is great! Nice island design and the keys have a lovely feedback to them. I really cannot fault it for the price.

I am doing a postgraduate course, and have been doing my latest assignment on it, performs perfectly.
