What's the best method to record calls on Android?

Hi guys, I find I'm in a bit of a moral quandary.

I've started getting regular weekends with my kids again where the ex gets to call the kids for half an hour, I've noticed that they get very apprehensive and worried while on the phone to their mum. I don't want to invade their privacy but judging by their behaviour while on the call and afterwards. It's a drastic change.

I'm very concerned she's saying inappropriate things or worse with the kids being on a child protection plan for emotional abuse from their mum. Is there a way of being able to automatically record incoming calls without the other person knowing?

I've spoken to social services about my concerns but the ex is just denying it, naturally.

I use the paid for version of ACR. However since Google introduced changes to terms and conditions it will no longer log the phone number that's being recorded but I don't think that would concern you as you know the number being called. It's also apparently unreliable for recording calls made over WiFi which again probably isn't relevant.

Other than that I've found it reliable with clear recordings of both sides of the conversation on a Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
