Whats the best monitor for xbox 360 ?

My brother wants a monitor for his xbox360 and pc. It seems all hd lcd tv's are now too big to have on a computer desk when you're sitting close to the screen.

Also how well will a 24'' (1920 x 1200) monitor scale to the 720p and 1080p resolutions.

Well I have a 24" BenQ connected to my PC via DVI (1920x1200) and my PS3 via HDMI (1080p) - have to say I've never tried 720p, never needed to

and Ive never had any problems with scaling (i.e. black box round the picture) 1:1 pixel mapping eliminates this. So provided your bro's X360 can output HD and the monitor has the right ports/supports 1:1 pixel mapping then it should be fine. I even have my sky+ box rigged up (non HD) and its awesome.

I used to have a BenQ fp241w and it would not display 1080p on the xbox 360 over vga. I assume HDMI and component are fine but I changed to a Dell 24" which is perfect.

VGA is an analogue input hence no 1080p, as is component.
HDMI, and DVI-D should be fine.
