What's the best Monitor & GFX card combination for my needs?

Hello,

I've got a View sonic 19" VX912 TFT Monitor, and very good it is too. I am currently still on the GFX card that came with this PC (Radeon X850 XT with scores of 6,500 3D Marks 05 and 13005 in 03).

What would be the best upgrade to match my monitor (don't really want to swap, even though I'm limited to 1280x1024). I've seen other threads in which ATI's flagship card; the X1900-XT-X doesn't do too well (on big 24 inch monitors for example). Would, however, this card be overkill for my 19" TFT, or would I benefit from a X1900XT-X card (or XT) in the games listed below?

TIA

Games I play: F.E.A.R., COD2, BF2, Far cry, and some rally/racing games, which run with ease on my current card - save NFSMW that is:)

Couldn't agree more with getting a 256mb x1800xt. I upgraded to mine from a clocked x850xt and the difference is huge. It will run all those games excellent at your native res (1280x1024).
Bargin price and stunning performance - what more could you ask for
