What's the best 'play it all' media player around at the mo?

i'm looking to spend about £100 for a friend who currently has a first gen wd live player, which is ok for most stuff but doesn't decode dts and has various other occasional playback issues.

So is there a simple player out there which will take everything thrown at it without any trouble? Any recommendations welcome, many thanks!

My lg bd60 3d bluray player will play any video format with dts audio from a usb stick or hard drive but might be a bit of a waste if you have no intrest in 3d but im sure other playrs should be able to do it
