Whats the best PS3 unit to buy?

I see the PS3 has all sorts of variations - what is the best one to buy?

I think only the 40GB version is available in the UK atm, you could import one but then if it goes wrong your in the dog house, if your worried about the limited hard drive space they are easily upgradeable and quite cheap.

just be aware you cant play ps2 games.

if you want that option you'll have to search for a 60gb one.

Try looking for a second hand 60gb version if you cant the only other solution is the 40gb

The 40Gb model is best, unless (partial) PS2 emulation is a requirement.

Buy a PS3 40 Gig for £300 with a game or 2

AND this is a big AND

buy a cheap PS2 for £20-30 DO NOT BUY A PS3 for £400+ just to play PS2/1 games

All models of PS3 run PS1 games.

To be honest, your TV will probably do a better job of upscaling PS2 output (especially if you use component cables) than the PS3. The PS3 is crap at it. With a dedicated PS2, you'll have no compatability issues and have rumble!
