I'll add that G0 stepping quad core at £183ish

That leaves motherboard, ram + cooling

2gb OCZ pc6400 will do nicely me thinks? Whats the best FSB:DRAM ratio on the newer intel chipsets though? Do you really need the high end ram? Will be adding more 2gb ram in a few months time perhaps.

Not sure about the motherboard though. Abit IP35 or Asus P5N-E Sli or P5K?

Tuniq tower will do nicely for cooling I think yeah?

Dont want to spend more than £400ish

Rest of the stuff is a CM 101 case, 4 HDDs, 2 optical, 512mb 7950GT

I have a 620w OCZ powerstream PSU, i'm gonna guess that is plenty yeah with 38A on the 12V rail.

This:

Abit IP35 Pro (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard - Fantastic P35 Chipset board, one of the best.

Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-5300C3 667MHz Dual Channel Kit - Fantastic Memory, will overclock to 1000MHZ+ very easily.

Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme CPU Cooler (Socket AM2/LGA775) - One of the best air coolers about.

Noctua NF-S12 1200RPM 120mm Silent Case Fan - 3 Pin - A Fan for the Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme CPU Cooler, which will do the job just fine.

Total : £269.32

What difference does memory speed and timings really?

could get 4gb pc6400 Cl5 quite cheap i've noticed.

Whats the difference between IP35 and the pro model?

What about the gigabyte P35 DS3P? are those any good

I've been reading the other thread and I want about 3.5ghz out this beasty if possible.
