So I been thinking of getting into the IT trade, I've had some exp with 1st line support, and wish to know what everyone thinks which is the best route to get qualified.

I would like to go down the server support / Networking

Do I do a course through computeach ( A+ N+ Windows server 2008 )

Trying to find the most cost effective way.

Any input would be great

thanks

Self study for CCNA for your networking skills and then do some Microsoft certs for server etc.. don't bother with the A+ N+ rubbish.
Obviously certs don't mean everything but they will give you a nice foundation knowledge at least.

Learn all the things. Disregard certifications.

Yes because certificates are completely disregarded when you're applying for a job. [/sarcasm]

Previous poster is right I'd aim more for the manufacturer qualifications if possible, Cisco, Microsoft, VMware, Citrix, etc. are all highly valued where as the A+ is more for getting into service desk roles.
