Whats the best shopping cart for a small site these days?

Back in time I used Zencart/CubeCart/osCommerce but havent been near website shops for about 5 years and looking to help a friend with a new venture.

What would you guy recommend for use with Paypal and housing say 50 products max (at the moment).

I don't know what the best is but you could take a look at Opencart as well.

There are some good, affordable hosted platforms also. Small site shouts Shopify to me.
