What's the best Socket to get?

Looking at Core i processors and wondering which socket is the best for the Core i7. Which is the newer socket?

1156 is newer, but it's getting killed off sooner. Buy 1366 stuff if you can afford it.

1156 is going to be killed off when Sandybridge launches later in the year followed by 1366 in Q3 next year, if that does'nt get moved forward as well.
