As title really. Generally speaking, what is considered to be the best performing/reliable type of wireless adapter for vista 32bit, pci or usb?
Cheers.
probably pci, but in truth ive seen no real difference between pci or usb adaptors. except, im pretty sure when i had a usb adaptor it was stealing more cpu cycles than the pci card does. somebody else may be able to confirm this
My Netgear USB dongle is very very light and never really a problem. I think in the past they were a bit slower than PCI cards but nowadays they're pretty good if you get a quality one.
definately pci - USB ones I have used (Buffalo) sometimes struggle to hold a connection where a pci (Buffalo) is OK -maybe because of smaller enclosed aerial?
I've also found that USB also tend to get rather hot and often need a USB extension cable so you can position them for best signal.............
