What's the best upgrade from a GTX280 for me (spec inside)

Hi Guys,

I'm just playing through Battlefield Bad Company 2 on max settings and I have started to notice some slowdown so I am thinking of treating myself to a Christmas present in the form of a new graphics card so that I can play some of the newer releases over the festive period.

My current setup is

Q6600 @ 3.42 (this is as far as this CPU goes without silly volts)
8GB ram
Abit IP35 pro
Dell 2007 WFP - so I game at 1680x1050 with vsync on to avoid tearing so need something to perform at 60FPS+
GTX280

My maximum budget would be around about the £300 mark.

Is there anything that you would recommend for a noticable boost in the latest games?

Many thanks

Spudgun

You may want to wait for the new 69xx cards to come out come 13th December which should fall into that price range and be potentially better value for money than the currently available cards. If you had to buy now, a 480 is probably what I'd get.

Thank you gentlemen, excellent advice on here as always and I appreciate your time

Looks like the smart play is to wait until the new range of ATI cards is out and see what they bring to the party, especially as it will be 26/27 December before I get some 'me time' to settle down with the best games of the last couple of months
