whats the best version of vista to get?

just 32 or 64 bit plain edition or ultimate or any other that is out there?

for 99% of home users with 64bit hardware, the home premium x64 is what you want.

Agreed.

The only reason not to go 64bit imo is if specific hardware you need supported does not have 64bit vista drivers

when you say 64 bit hardware, what kind of things is that, do you need 64 bit ram, 64 bit mobo, 64 bit graphics card?

Most PC's that are capable of running vista will have a 64-bit CPU and no you dont need 64 bit ram, 64 bit mobo, 64 bit graphics card.

Some hardware like TV-Cards/Sound Cards things like that dont have 64-bit drivers available.

Q6600 chip
Ballistics DDR2 Ram
Asus PK5 Mobo,

Would I have any probs installing 64 bit vista (im thinking of getting vista and not sure which version)

Nope you shouldnt have any problems, if you only have 2GB RAM or less its worth getting it up to 4gb for the price of ram! otherwise no point in installing 64-bit?
