whats the best Video play back software?

I have been using winamp. what i like about it is that i can use m keyboard remotely to control volumn and skip forward thru the boring bit of a film.

Now i came across these MP4 files. they dun play in winamp. i want to know if there is a player out there that is better ie can support all the formats. and also have the similar control.

I dun like VLC player cos it doesn't do the 5 sec skip forward jobby

Media Player Classic with ffdshow tryouts is what I use, along with real alternative and quicktime alternative. Not sure that media player classic does this skipping feces that you speak of though .

VLC - Shift & left/right arrow jumps 4 to 5 seconds.

Ctrl right directional skips ahead 30 seconds. Alt right directional skips ahead 5 seconds. Ctrl up directional raises volume, ctrl down directional lowers volume.
