Ok, so I finally learned that you don't need windows MCE to stream video, etc to the 360, but what is the simplest way of going about the streaming?

I believe there are 4 ways - tversity, media player 11, using the zune software, or winamp 5.5.

Which of these is the easiest to set up?

I will have one folder where all videos/films will be saved, and they will be in various formats, such as windows media video, xvid and divx.

I use media player 11, just go to options, library and enable sharing, then anything in the library can be seen by your 360,

I found winamp a pain to use as you need to keep orb running at all times, tversity was great before the 360 supported avi files but is far too slow now, and i have never tried zune

I found tversity and media player 11 pretty useless. I'm currently using Media Connect 2.0 and its flawless. Just add permissions to folders you want to stream, done. No messing about updating libraries and such.

Shame it doesn't work with the PS3.

can you use media connect 2.0 if you have WMP11 installed? I've never managed to get WMP11 sharing working and Tversity seems to work sometimes so I'd like a more reliable solution.

i found transcode 360 much easier then any of the other methods. however i now use MCE. since the update now allows the xbox to deal with divx etc

guess its just horses for courses.

Well, am trying to use media player 11, and while I can see the xbox from my pc and provide it access to the library, the xbox can not see the pc....

loads of people have the same problem, i tryed every solution under the sun and still no go, so i gave up and just use Windows Media Connect, been flawless ever since.

Yeah I have that problem as well. Trying to get Tversity setup now because while the Zune software seems to work, it also seems to ignore a lot of my music

ended up just using media centre for mine,

fantastic sets itself up automatically no hassle no worries :)

Have you turned on enable media sharing in WMP11?

On mine it sometimes only works if WMP is switched to sharing aswell.

I can't, whenever I try and turn it on the ok box just greys out for about 20 seconds then goes back to normal. So the only option i can click is cancel. Never worked out why it does that.

Argh what is wrong with this crappy program. I keep getting this message:

"The Tversity media center is already running or the service cannot be started"

when i attempt to start, stop or restart the service :(

Seems to be working now touch wood, even got videos streaming which never worked before :)

Took ages to add my music folder though, around 30,000 files
