Whats the best way to barter a good deal from my existing ISP (Sky) regarding upgrading BB to Fibre?

Hi guys, been with Sky a while now, around 5 years in my new home. I've always had BB with them and been really pleased with the speeds. But the last 6 months I've been looking to get on the Fibre bandwagon. Now, looking at deals on their website, it looks like I have to pay a setup fee and a rather large monthly subscription. I'm only paying £2.50 now for my unlimited 16mb BB ( got a deal) don't want to be paying £50 activation then £30 + £15 line rental per month for the 76mb service. That's going to cost way to much money with everything else in my life.

What are my options here for getting really nice fibre at a nice price? best to stick with Sky and barter a deal? or find someone else (Virgin out of the question, for some reason not available here even though I live in a well known built up area.

Tbh Tony you will only get the best deal by threatening to move. Current deal on the 40/10 service is six months at £7.50 and then remaining twelve months at £20. I haven't heard of any deals on the Pro service at all. Call in, ask to speak to retentions as you are considering leaving for Talk Talk or BT.

The usual retention offer if you speak to Sky's cancellation team should be free activation, free new Sky Hub and half price Fibre Broadband for 6 or 12 months (seems to vary).

If you're lucky I got offered (after asking twice) discounted line rental @ £10pm for 12 months as well.

EDIT - Just to confirm this is what I was offered for Fibre Pro.

In the same situation. Ideally was looking for the Pro too but as MissChief says no deals on the pro for some reason???

Let us know how it goes if you call in.

Well when I rang up for my mac (during the O2->Sky integration) I was fully prepared to leave and it was only after a 30min phone call that I got Pro (despite it not being advertised) for £30, free activation, free line rental, free hub, £75 account credit.

So deals are there.

Called in about cancelling here and told the guy their closest package was Sky's Fibre Pro, they gave us a deal of 12 months free line rental with zero other charges. :)

Did this recently, told them I had taken a deal with Virgin they sent me the hub for free gave me 12 months at 50% off and 12 months free line rental.

Was very happy!! speeds have been great as well.

you can use Sky's webchat to get deals. I was asking a question about how I inform them I'm leaving. They ended up offering me a deal just on the webchat.

I expect they log the chats but it does mean you can consider your replies.
