Worst ever "look at my room" ever... I know i know, i'll post it in desk and room too...

Got a question about the set up. I want to be able to link my PC to my TV. I was going to run a HDMI cable in the trunken, however it'll be a nightmare switching between the display port etc.

Would this work?

If i bought a steam link, attached it to the TV.... Could i still use my headphones from my PC aswel as plugging in a USB controller to my computer?

I do it with HDMI. No problems with input lag that way and less links in the chain. Just use win+p to switch displays on the fly.

Guys above are correct you can choose where to output the audio, i have my tv connected through hdmi too.

Why not just get a longer cable and plug directly into the PC? It's not far and you can route it round the skirting boards or under the edges of the carpet.

HDMI, I tried the steam link recently and whilst it's 'cool', it's by no means a useable device for long gaming sessions, it's super fussy to get setup as well with a bunch of cables. A single HDMI will be much easier. To make life so easy, when you wish to change, just turn off your monitors forcing your PC to go to the TV hdmi before you launch a game.

In my previous place, I had a very similar setup, where my gaming PC was in the living room, I had a HDMI to my TV and it took all of 5 seconds to switch between which monitor was primary.

I'll repeat what's been said above: HDMI, all the way. (No need for double HDMI....)

Switching audio output with Win10 is super easy, and can be done on the fly (providing the game your playing doesn't mind being Alt+Tabbed).

Cheers guys! I ended up bidding on a steam link and getting it for £13.

But tbh, i'll go down the HDMI route then! Simply life for me!

And the Unicorn leggins are my 8 year olds.... You utter perv haha!
