whats the best way to install leopard?

any suggestions or improvements to the below:-

backup everything using ccc or other utility to external disk, install leopard with erase and install, then use migration assistant to migrate data backin?

so it's probably best to do a erase and install and migration assistant for apps and copy back documents. can i also copy over my iphoto and itunes folders and they will work? or would it be best to import again from scratch?

Whats the best way of getting mail over if not using the wizard?

i've found superduper to be more reliable than CC, as i've had CC fail in the past when i've come to do a restore
