What's The Best Way to Overclock SD 3700

Just bought a shiny new Athlon 64 3700+ (SD) and an Arctic 64 Freezer Pro.

My RAM is branded DDR400 but is "value" type - I know it is stable at 215Mhz at stock voltage but have never pushed it any higher.

What is the best way to start clocking the SD 3700+ (divider, FSB or both).

I assume that on stock the SD is 11x200 (2.2Ghz), and I've heard that it can be clocked at 2.6Ghz plus.

How have you guys acheived that - I'm on air cooling only and am not looking for extreme over-clocking.

Drop HTT/LDT multi to x4, put memory on 166 divider (sometimes called 333), up the HTT/FSB until it fails S&M . If it fails up the vcore by 0.025 at a time until you reach 1.55v

That didn't make a whole lot of sense to me at the moment - probably will when I open up the BIOS - what is HTT/LDT?

The HTT/LDT multi is for the HyperTransport bus. You need to keep this speed at around 1000mhz. The stock multi is x5 and you have the stock HTT of 200, so 200*5 = 1000mhz. If you raise the HTT say to 250 then you will need to lower the multi so you have 250*4 = 1000.
 
Thanks for that. I now understand the HTT/LDT but can I check my the memory divider.

I assuming the divider you refer to allows the use of DDR333 memory with a 200FSB CPU. So divider is 200/166 = 1.20

So when you up the FSB to 250 and use this divider the memory clock will be 250/1.2 = 208 (i.e a slight overclock which should be no problem).

Is this correct?

If so, I guess if you had good memory you may be able to leave the divider on 1:1 and run the memory at 250.

My memory isn't that good - Geil Value DDR200 - I doub't it could reach 250 but should be able to to 225 or 230.

Is there anyway I could accomodate that or would I be better leaving it at 208 and trying to improve on the default 3-8-4-4 timings or a combination of the two.
