what's the best way to write equations?

Hi there. I'm trying to find a faster way of writing equations in word (equation editor takes ages!). are there any other applications that you can recommend for it?

also i was thinking fo buying a tablet so i can just write it with a pen and it automatically recognises it (this would be amazing if it works!).

LOL at using paint

latex seems really good but i think it has a too high learning curve. is there nothing that can read it from tablets?

soryr, i'm not talking about just drawing the equations out by hand and then leaving them like that, i want to draw them , then the computer recognises it and puts it in digital equation form (so it looks just like i used equation editor).

i'm talking about equations which will be in a report, it just takes so long to write them with equation editor. hand writing recognisiton works relaly well, but i haven't tried it with equations, that's why i want to know if it works (or if there's some softwrae that will make it happen).
