logitech 'quickcam' is a cheap and easy solution, you can get it for 10-15 quid online or probably 15-25 from a purple-shirt type place, its cheap but quick and fairly good quality - had no problems with it.

I have an old quickcam web (square head) and its realy grainy at the side of others, but it must be 8 years old and built for dialup.

If you're using XP then pick up a Sony Eyetoy, they've been hacked to work with XP 32bit. Apparently they make excellent quality webcams

i bought recently microsoft lifecam vx 1000 and it's very nice. it has nice colours and smooth real time fps motion capture. it also has low light feature if your using it in dark room but it's only half decent and runs only at 15 fps. you could probably find better but at £20 roughly it not bad webcam

be careful to check manufacturers website for 64bit drivers first.. even if you dont use 64bit windows, you may in future.

Think that is what I have, got it from ocuk when it was in Bgrade.
Came in a plastic cover like normal, with a manual and everything.

Bargain for £8

using a sony eyetoy myself, as is the gf. excellent quality, im on xp, shes on vista, was a doddle to isntall on both.
