the last thing i'd want is something that converts. youtube can be poor enough quality as it is so i use something that downloads the files as-is.

If you like chrome, then try torch instead. Its pretty much the same but has a download button built into it that lights up when there's a video on the screen. Always works on youtube. Not always on other sites.
