OK since the start of the steam summer sales I have been looking round for games that I have
Interest in. I am doing all this on my phone through the steam app which is great, I buy the games and I start to download them onto the PC while I am work on the roof, again which is all good. I get a message saying my Pc is running out of space, to my shock I find that Max Payne and hitman are MASSIVE LIKE 35GB each for one game. That 70gb in total for two games. I have a 2tb hard drive and I am thinking will it be enough for all these next gen games coming out.

So the question is what's the biggest game file you had to install

2tb will be plenty. :)

I know what you mean though; I've also bought Max Payne and Hitman, and was surprised just how much drive space they require. Well anyway, as I haven't installed them yet, I would say that so far something like either a Stalker mod (I forget which, but maybe People Soup) or the HL2 Cinematic mod would be the largest files for me.

Iirc, RAGE is another pretty big game install.

I use to play Flight Simulator quite a bit, not as much as I use too. But I remember a few of the add-ons being a noticeable size

The Secret World is probably the largest I've installed recently at just under 40GB, and that is without any patch files, screenshots, ect.

Assassins creed 3 was pretty sizable too if I recall. (not played it though :))..

Just stick to indie games.

Don't starve and KSP took seconds to download.. :)
