What's the catch?

I'd be careful with digital purchases on ebay, they're not covered by the ebay guarantee to "get what you paid for".

Dan, I reviewed your case and found that the item you purchased is an intangible good/service. Please note that the eligibility of a transaction to be qualified for eBay Money Back Guarantee varies on what type of item you’ve purchased. With that, I’d be glad to give you quick and general information, but are not limited to, the transactions we can’t cover under eBay Money Back Guarantee coverage.

Because of this, I’m positive you’ll understand that we’ve now closed this case. You don’t have to worry as I’m now here to outline the steps on how you can resolve this issue.

I bought a digital xbox live code and even though the guy admitted on ebay messages he hadn't sent it nor marked it as despatched ebay sided with him. It was only when I further pursued the claim on paypal where the guy said he hadn't sent it still and "tried to refund me" and I told him it hadn't gone through to try again. He didn't respond so I eventually paypal found in my favour.

It was a silly long drawn out process and not worth the time or effort involved! If it sounds too good to be true it usually us!

Almost certainly not genuine no. Low feedback seller, and those feedback scores he has got are almost exclusively from people with low feedback themselves. Screams dodgy, they just want a 0% interest loan for a couple of months.
