Whats the correct setting?

Hi,

Got an X-FI Xtreme card with medusa 5.1 headset, without sounding like a right t*t, do I set windows speaker config to 5.1 surround to get the best out of my gaming/music or does the creative driver setup take over and set it for me? Noob question, but I have to be sure..!

Don't waste your finger power ppl, I have just realised you must set it to 5.1.....lol thought COD2 sounded like a had a duvet shoved in my ear holes, and CSS was the same....pffff we live and learn..!
