I've just taken the following snapshot for the "Guess the film from the still" thread:

On the left is the pic viewed in Photoshop, on the right is the same image opened with Vista's default picture viewer, Windows Photo Gallery.

As you can see, the colours in WPG are messed up.

It's not just the snapshot it affects - all my photos look the same, but are fine if opened in Photoshop/Lightroom/etc.

This happen to anyone else? Is there a fix? WPG opens almost instantly compared to Photoshop, so I'd prefer it if I didn't have to open PS to quickly view a picture.

With my Samsung 223BW monitor, if I installed the drivers for it through Windows Update, it messed up all the colours in Photo Gallery.

So I check if you have any drivers intalled for your monitor and try removing those, see if that effects it.

It'll be some kind of colour profile you have enabled, either in PS or in Windows. For Windows settings: Control Panel > Color Management > Advanced.

I had that exact problem, too. If I installed with Windows update, most of my photos and white backgrounds had a yellow effect on them.

Needless to say, I removed said drivers and everything went back to normal.
