What’s the difference between all these GPUs?

For example the 3080, they all have different prices but are the same card.

im not bothered about the pre overclocked cards but what’s the difference with the others? Do the others overclock better?

tbh I just take the standard cooler off and put an EK block on, so would I be better suited to the £649 cards compared to one £100 more? I would overclock it by myself

for one theres not that much room for overclock .. the cheaper cards will have there power level locked to 100%.. the dearer cards may go to 110%
anymore and it might do 3090 speeds .. you could always try modding the card ..
nvidia have this series locked down good and proper ..

  • Number of power delivery phases to the GPU v-core would be one difference, the more phases, the more reliable and stable the card will be.
  • Each brand has it's own unique cooling systems and fans.
  • Having more power phases for the memory chips helps, but all the reference PCB layouts seem to all have 3 power phases for the memory chips, the more phases the better. the more phases for the memory means more chance of the voltage going into the memory chips all being the same (1.35v) less phases for memory means the voltages can be more varied due to physical differences in the distance from each chip to the power phase VRMs.
  • Cards seem to have varying quality of PCI-E voltage regulators.

For stock speeds the differences don't make much difference, but when overclocking these things can have a massive variance.

The problem is at the moment people don't know which is best yet. We need more people to tear the cards down and do some checks.

You should pay attention to the Warranty periods too. Different manufacturers offer different Warranties and it's a factor that some people miss.
