What's The Difference Between Corsair CMH32GX5M2B6000Z30 and CMH32GX5M2B6000Z30K?

I've had a look at the QVL for the motherboard I'll be getting, and I've found some DDR5 that's 6000MT/s, a CAS of 30 and First Word Latency of 10ns for £116.99.

The only problem is that the 'popular online website' that's offering the best price on it has the Item Model Number CMH32GX5M2B6000Z30K and the Asrock website has what seems like the same reference on their QVL, but without the K on the end, CMH32GX5M2B6000Z30. And it also says 'ver 4.43.13' too.

So will this work with my motherboard? What difference does the K make, and how do I know which version I'll be getting?

I've always hated motherboards and RAM, such a pain in the bum lol

There's no way of knowing, unfortunately, if the manufacturer doesn't specify that the PCB and memory chips are the same between versions, which barely anyone does.

Okay, thanks, I think I'll chance it. 'They' have a 30 day return thingy anyway so I can always send it back if they have issues.

The biggest problem with RAM is that the quality of reviews is so bloody poor. You see low marks here and there because the RAM doesn't work, but they hardly ever mention the model of motherboard or version of BIOS that they've tried it with.

I reckon half or maybe more than half of these reviews are people that haven't done any sort of checking the QVL for RAM. They just buy it and expect it to work.

Problem you have is that you can buy stuff on the QVL and it still doesn't work.

Were you using 4x16GB or 2x32GB though?

From what I hear, 7000 Ryzen CPUs have an issue with all of the slots being filled. Something to do with the Memory Controller, I think.

If you fill all of the slots you need to run them at a slower speed apparently, 3600MT/s I think.

4x16 so two identical 32GB kits, yeah it knocks the speeds down a lot. Like I said if you're only interested in 32GB then the 32GB kit is fine
