Can't be arsed to google :p

Basically, from my understanding, Ibuprofen is a stronger paracetamol. In which case, why wouldn't you just always buy Ibuprofen? And is aspirin the same as Ibuprofen?

Teeeellll meeeeee!!!

Ta.

Some people can't have ibuprofen or aspirin due to stomach conditions. I know my Mum had very bad bleeding from her stomach years ago and was told since then to take paracetamol instead. Ibuprofen is also an anti-inflammatory and not just a pain killer.

Well if your not going to Google, neither am I! - lets all post what we can remember without using google!

I always thought Ibuprofen was an anti-inflammatory and paracetomol was a painkiller though i may be wrong?

Very basic -

Ibuprofen is an analgesic (pain killer) and anti-inflammatory (NSAID) - like aspirin. Both are very bad for your tummy though if you are prone to ulcers (as they cause the stomach to bleed)

Paracetomol is just an analgesic - and a lot easier on the tummy - but is totally useless at stopping inflammation (as in athritis, swelling of joints etc)

If you want me to get technical - i can ;)

Go for it :)

I feel like learning something new hehe.

And after the replies in this thread, I guess I should just buy Ibuprofen from now on, seeing as I'm not prone to ulcers.
