wireless controller isn't hugely useful for me, i did go for the premium in the end though as i figured it would be more resellable when i got bored of it.
the only real thing you might infact want is the hard drive for some of the extra content. live so far for me is useless, i don't want to play against screaming 12 year olds in Halo. but you can get a 12 month subscription off a card from shops or the bay of E for much cheaper than straight off MS, i think you can get it for £30 a year or so, maybe less.
hard drive aswell you can find for way less than the rip off £70(i think its still 70). not sure how its going at the mo, i think you can buy the drives, western digi's? and flash them with a bios or change the table to work with the 360. not sure how well it works though. either way, you can get a core + the hard drive for i think around £35 then you'll get all the functionality of the premium without paying for cables and a wireless controller you don't need.
its not a bad way to go.
i picked one up, a few months ago cos i was stuck at home for a bit with a very VERY big lull in PC games at a time when there were quite a lot of exclusive games on the 360.
but as far as i can tell, a LOT of the big releases coming out this summer/year are coming out on the PC aswell, huxley, ut3, bioshock. not sure whats going on with gta4 and pc, released to us original PC gta supporters a tottally fair 5 years later on a crappy port i assume
