No, the HD-DVD drive is an external add on only.

To be honest your thread could be asking about anything - HD displays, Hard Drives or HD-DVD drives - all of which are relevant to the 360.

Think you need to be a bit clearer :)

No.

There is a an xbox 360 whcih is a console with a DVD drive for games.

On top of this you can now buy an ADD-ON called xbox360 HD-DVD drive whcih can be plugged int0o your 360 console and that will play HD-DVD movies.

The add-on is no good unless you have a console as well.

There is no such thing as an "xbox360HD". It does not exist.

As mentioned before, you can get a seperate HD-DVD player addon for the 360 but that is it. All 360s output in HD resolutions.

Im pretty sure there is only ONE xbox 360 mate. There aren't two different versions.

The HD bit you are talking about must be the 360 HD-DVD player add-on that attaches to the 360 console.

Well, I'll be pedantic and point out there are two versions - Core and Premium. As everyone knows by now, Core includes no hard drive, composite TV cables and a wired pad. Premium includes a 20GB hard drive, component TV cables, wireless pad, ethernet cable and headset.

Maybe this is what she meant by 360HD - the HD meaning hard drive?

I think shes talking about the HDD, the more expensive of the two packs. The cheaper pack is ok on a strict budget but otherwise definetly get the 'HD' one

I can't see the point of the core package when it's pretty much usless because you going to have to go out and by an Harddrive anyway at some time and I'm guessing it'll cost you more doing it like that aswell.

If you have the money then there is no point really but its just an economy option for those who dont play it as much.
The total opposite strategy to sony's 'you must have blu-ray and pay big bucks' approach

You do not HAVE to buy a hard drive, someone who doesn't use xbox live marketplace and just plays the odd game could quite happily just play with a memory card. Saying that most people should definately go for the premium.

It's handily offered as a freebie on lots of mobile phone contracts though, which the premium would not be..clever move by MS :p
