ok, i have a wireless logitech keyboard and mouse. now whats the difference between that optical mouse and say a 3D optical gaming 800dpi mouse?

my logitech mouse is a DZL-M-RCE95, its part of a wireless keyboard/mouse bundle thing. been looking at the evo labs MS-E2108PB as its what i saw in a local shop advertised as a 'gaming' mouse. so just really wondered if there was actually any real difference in them that you would notice.

I went from a Logitech wireless desktop mouse, to a Logitech G500. The main differences are it feels nicer in the hand, moves smoother over the mouse mat, and is much more accurate.

For me it made a big difference, and I wouldn't go back.

ok kool. would the difference be noticable again then having a 1600dpi mouse over an 800dpi mouse?

IMO i would say yes. All depends what speed you have your mouse set at, and what mouse mat you currently have.

I have just purchased a Razer sphex mouse gaming mat,it is very smooth and does seem a lot quicker.

My mouse is currently a R.A.T3 @ 2000 DPI max is 3200 DPI

i've just upgrade to logitech g510 keyboard and g700 mouse.. think the real difference is the feel and sensitivity, but then again my old setup was beat up so anything else is always gonna be better

In general, yes. Don't get lured in by high DPI and low prices as they will probably be poorly constructed and not very accurate. It is a good idea to stretch to a decent mouse that will last you, and is nice to use.

i have tended to stick to my 360 controller for games, which does somewhat limit the games i can play. mainly as i have been used to consoles over pc for gaming and im limited for room for a mouse/keyboard. but there are a few games that look pretty awesome and i know would play better with KB/M over the controller or just dont support controllers. i dont want to spend a fortune, incase i dont like it or whatever so want something that is 'gaming' spec rather than my cheap logitec one to see if a) it makes a difference and b) i can actually game with a KB/M setup.

Not really sure how goos they are but you could pick up a £10 from Overclockers to see if you like them. I'm just not sure you'll get the 'full experience' with a cheap one. As I said the mx518 is a proven mouse at a great price. But in the end it is a case of you get what you pay for, just make sure to get a wired one and check back here before you buy it. :)

lol ok, the gigabyte one i said about we have in the shop here, it looks pretty well built but unfortunatly its in a vacuum sealed plastic box so i cant have a go on it :(

I'm currently looking at the Sidewinder x8. Anyone had any experience with it. Have read some good reviews. Tis wireless but they claim v minimal and not noticable lag
