HI whats the best CPU or are they the same?
Intel I-5 cpu @ 2.67 or
core 2 Quad Q6600 2.46GHZ?
i know ones new and ones older but EH!
just need to build a gamming PC thats all and just wanted to know, I dout anyone would notice the speed diff from these too.. ? both with 6 gig of ram! ETC thanks...

Q6600 is a four year old CPU on an older platform (socket 775), and clock for clock it's slower than both the older i5 quads and the new i5 quads.

If you're building a new computer from new parts then go for a i5 2500k. Also there is no need to get 6GB ram, that's a strange number for that type of CPU. Get 8GB DDR3 1.5v ram for about £40 - £45.

i5 @ 2.67 Ghz? What model is that? I can only assume its an old 1156 model.

The newer 1155 i5's are the best performance / price at the moment. You can't go wrong with one of them.

For simplicity use the damn model numbers for clarity. GHz stopped being THE selling point during the Pentium 4 days

Here is the comparison between them:

i5 750 vs Q6600

If you can afford it, I would skip the I5 750 and go for the i5 2500k, as it's the best CPU for gaming, both in price and performance. Although if you can wait, then go for IvyBridge.
