What's the difference

So this is probably a stupid question, but is there actually that much difference between cases apart from cosmetic appearance?

In my planned build I have this case:

But I've also seen the one below available for £20 less.

the PC is going to be tucked away under a desk so looks really don't matter, but if there's a performance related reason to go with the Phanteks I don't want to make a false economy type mistake

Only real difference is that the Phanteks has tempered glass rather than acrylic for the side panel.

Used to be that cheap cases had sharp edges, didn't have painted interiors and lacked the general niceties of more expensive cases, but a lot of that has trickled down over time.

As long as you avoid the real cheap cases that still rely on 80/92mm fans and don't have enough fan mounts, then almost any case will do unless you are looking at water cooling etc.

Thanks!

That looks like an easy saving of £20 on the build cost then. I assume the acrylic panel will scratch more easily than the glass, but that shouldn't be an issue for me.

Both these cases come with a 120mm fan and space for additional ones to be installed if required so cooling shouldn't be an issue either
