whats the fastest between these two golden oldies ?

have an old P4 board, and an making a little PC for the mates kids, i have a 2.1Ghz Celeron with 128Mb cache, and a P4 1.6Ghz (dunno the cache) any idea what would be the fastest?

you mean 128k cache

and the P4 of that age is allmost certain to have at least twice if not four times as much.

Don't think there'd be much in it myself.

The P4 is likely to be a 400fsb 256k cache version, which isn't going to offer much if anything over a 2.1Ghz Celeron on a 400fsb with 128k cache.

If the 1.6 has 512k cache, then yeah, it would probably edge ahead.

Yea if its a 1.6 Williamette then its debatable, if its a 1.6A Northwood then it'll prolly win and if you overclock it might win even more

Northwood celerons chug. Given the choice between the 2 even with the speed diff, both being Northwood core I would take the P4 every single time.

/Edit if you have the time why don't you bench the 2?
