I currently have a amd 2600 cpu .

what options do i have to upgrade the cpu?

You can update to the newest 5000 series cpu with a bios update, so that would be a 5950x.

Whats your budget and primary use ?

Ermm no budget as such... I currently game on gigabyte ad27q monitor . 144hz . My gpu is a 2080 super. I feel there is probs a massive bottleneck at the moment. I wasnt sure if my motherbord would do the 5000 series.

the cooler i have is the corsair rgb plat 240m ... im guessing that cooler would me ok with a new cpu?
