Mine is 700ish miles x2: Cornwall to the 'Ring, and home again via Bristol. We got a lot wrong, but this prompted the end of the Tesla Model 3 and the replacement is a v8 diesel that does 650 miles per tank. My own EV is an i3 and, as said in another thread, we love it. It works brilliantly so please don't read into this I am anit-ev. I'm curious as to other peoples' experiences.

Going by Google maps, 191 miles each way, from Manchester to Claverham.

This was in am electric corsa with a 50kw battery (45kw usable I believe).

We stopped at Gloucester to charge for 20 mins whilst having a wee and a stretch of the legs.

No issues and I'd happily go much further in it.

I’ve gone from the west mids to Dumfries as a passenger in a Tesla. Around 450 miles return. Relatively pain free. Small charge at Ionity Blackburn and a larger charge on the way back at Carlisle again Ionity.

450 miles ish over a week.
West midlands --york--lake district--liverpool-west midlands.

Needed the toilet before i needed to charge,
Also been to bournemouth and back, and a few trips to weston super mare on the bank holidays, no dramas.

Was that 700 miles per day ?

I like the Honda E but have no idea what it would be like for doing 500+miles per day
700 miles each way, door-to-door is 666 miles but we had some wrangling to drop things in Bristol and collect/drop at Gatwick. Which doesn't make it a true test.

Honda E would be an awful choice for 500 miles per day. it's a city car (and an expensive one at that). you need to pick the right tool for the job and 500 miles a day you would probably want something with a good range and fast charging.

there are plenty of options there but not the Honda E

my longest is 260 miles in a single journey and I have to say it is an exceptionally dull story.

left home full battery in ipace
charged on a 50kw grid serve for 30 mins half way whilst I had a loo stop and a Cornish pasty company pasty....... arrived at destination with 25% charge. I then plugged the car in a 3pin plug for a couple of days (not what the car was designed for) and left with a full charge.and did a return 210 mile drive without stopping and got home with about 15% battery.

My problem is that i live in tiny guernsey and only go away once every year or 2 so really no need a large car
Last time i went to the UK i drove from Portsmouth to Wales (Lampeter) and then Northampton in one day

Good luck with the honda E, great looking car, but the range is a shocking 100 miles and it didnt do fast charging.

what about buying a small city car then.... and hiring a car for the once every year or 2 long trip?
(a few friends of ours don't own cars but hire one when needed, it works out much cheaper)

Always liked taking my own car/motorbikes away.
You have no idea how great it feels to be able to do more then 35mph legally in your own car for a few days a year or so ;)

+ with petrol engine ones i think the blowout of running at higher rpms + longer trips used to do them good

I've done central Scotland to Beziers France in a Model 3 LR twice. Approx 3000 mile return trip. Found it really chilled tbh, only stopping to charge the journey takes about 24 hours door to door.

270 miles each way (Birmingham to Falmouth), cruise control at 75 while on the motorway, single stop for lunch & quick charge. No drama, didn't take any longer than it would have in an ICE

Also done quite a few 200 mile trips with no charge, only time it was "iffy" was with the roof box on in a cold & wet October!

This is with an eNiro

Is that the new Niro electric or the old one?

what efficiency were you getting ?

The old one, 64kw

~3.7 mi/kWh average on the Cornwall trip; lovely weather 20c+, sunshine, just 2 of us and a couple of suitcases

~3.2 average driving up to the lakes in October, with the car loaded up, roof box on, dog in the boot, 2 kids in the back, miserable and wet (can't remember the exact temperatures, but must have been high single figures/low teens). We were doing fine cruising at 70 till we got into the hills around the south lakes (e.g. just north of Lancaster), and then the range started plummeting, dropped it down to 65 and it was staying level, and then went up again by about 20 miles after we got off the motorway (iirc we left the motorway with ~25 remaining, drove about 10 miles and arrived with ~35 left).

Edit: to clarify, the Cornwall trip wasn't 540 miles with only 1 charge, we arrived with ~90 miles left after a 45 min charge en-route (at Exeter), charged while we were there, and left the hotel on the way back with ~80%, charged for 30 mins or so at Cribbs Causeway, and got back to Birmingham with ~50 miles left
