Wouldn't touch with a 50ft bargepole- If you must have the 3D then RRT3 is not bad, but the daddy is RRT2.

It got boring really quickly. Probably because it was a dumbed down piece of rubbish. Just no depth to it.
 
I'd go with the above. Still waiting for something to better rrt2 - if that had a random scenario generator I wouldn't need anything better.
 
Looks like I'm sticking to Medi 2, Company of Heroes and NW2 over the Christmas break... providing the wife and child give me time off!!!!
 
Absolute bloody rubbish. It says 3+ on the box and it seems to be aimed at 3yr olds too. I am glad i only paid £12 for it. Still feel cheated though. Very easy, tiny maps, no tenders on the steam engines and the single player game is pathetically short. Full of bugs too even when patched. It's an insult to the RRT genre and Sid Meiers should be ashamed to put his name to this tripe.
 
I'm enjoying it actually, have been quite addicted to it (and I've played all the others). Once it's patched I've found no real problems with it. You can also get a patch to add tender cars; makes it look that bit better.

There's a lot of mixed opinions on the game, and yes it could be more in-depth but I've found it good fun to play.
