Very few places online that sell it by the roll, i'm guessing i'd have to go to a wholesaler - but without an account they are reluctant to tell you a price. Any ideas how much I should be paying by the roll? (305m)

Thanks.

You can run gigabit ethernet on cat5e. cat6 is harder to work with. Copper is quite pricey at the moment but Mayflex are usually cheap and might sell to you, about £33 +VAT per box of 305m last week IIRC.
Thats for solid conductors. if you are making cables you want stranded which costs more.

Lol. I found this out to my peril a few years ago when we bought 2 rolls of solid core cat5e and turned them into 60 5/10 metre cables.

Im sure my fingers still haven't recovered from the pain of the experience.
