Whats the going rate for alloy refurbs?

Quoted 300 for 4 17" wheels which i thought was a tad high, is that the usual price or cheap jobs just going to give cheap finishes.

Mine are in next week to be powdercoated, £220 (includes centre caps to be refurbed, and tyres re-fitted with new valves and balancing).

I was quoted £65 per wheel for a decent job by a well equipped local specialist (although I've forgotten their name - I think they were Wheel Works, not certain though). That was for powdercoating and rectification of any minor 'buckling'.

I had one done recently, cost was £75 including putting the tyre back on an re-balancing. So £300 for 4 sounds about right.

I think the going rate used to be around £50 a wheel and given the prices of new alloy sets i'd seriously consider buying some more as you could spent a bit more and then sell these and actually make money!
