Hey folks, what's the going rate on installing cat6 cables for an office ? I've seen some places starting at £30 others £150 per cable run,

about tree fiddy?

Surely it depends on the length of the cables, type of walls, what trunking / dado, brand of cable/faceplates etc?

Possibly around 100m cable lefty with faceplates possibly excel cable and faceplates, I'm asking as I have been asked by an local office how much would this be if they have 12 cable runs, they supply trunking etc.

Minimum £25 per cable. Depending how awkward.

100M won't do 12x runs unless it's a very small office by the way. Typically it would be about 2M from the wall port to ceiling, then at least 3M on the patch panel end.

Anywhere that prices per drop should only be used as a starting point - that's their worst case scenario in the event that you want say 40 drops to 40 different locations. If you are having them grouped in sets of 4 for example then that significantly reduces the workload and so the price should come down.

£150 per run is insane if you are having 48 drops for example. It's more reasonable if you only need 4 but they still need to supply a patch panel.
