Setting up the final bit of pc today i think so wondering what games to install got loads but duno which is quad except gta 4 oh yea baby im gona enjoy you now mwhahaha. :)

But what other games use quads well?

DCS Black Shark: But there's this weird thing: You start the game and then have to go into the Task Manager to activate all cores manually.

After that it makes a noticable difference though.

The Last Remnant

Grid

X-Men Origins-Wolverine

UT3 does (and I believe its native in the engine so Bioshock, Gears of War and others should all use multiple cores too)

Off the top of my head I can think of all the Unreal 3 Engine games, Left 4 Dead, Fallout 3, FEAR 2, SupCom, maybe Demigod as it's another GPG title.

The difference is slight, but in some cases having a quaddie clocked 500mhz slower than a dual gives you the same frame rates. So enough with this "dual cores are better for gaming" nonsense lol.

Quad core naturally doesn't of course mean 4 times as fast .. as cores have to have 'checkpoints' where they wait for core 2 to finish their 'bit of processing' before they can continuing processing as they NEED the answer from core 2 etc ....

Can. Worms. All over the place :o:(

teehee

I don't think we're going to see massive improvement till GPUs are no longer the bottle-neck for the majority of gaming systems. (SSDs seems to be well and truly on the way, hopefully will be in retail (i.e. Dell/HP) SKUs by the end of the year, thus bringing down the manufacturing price a huge amount and RAM hasn't ever been a problem has it?
