What's the latest Nero like?

I never realised imgburn lets you burn files to a disk. Saves me having to install anything else

change the mode to 'build'

can be run as a standalone exe too, so will run from a usbstick

i like nero 7 and as said, you dont need to install everything

Nero Scout

There seems to be a lot of hate for Nero Scout, from reading here and googling.

What exactly is the problem with it? I have had it installed for god knows how long, but never used it.

I am now testing out lots of software before I commit to a re install with my new rig and the Nero scout integration with explorer looks pretty neat.

You open up explorer, and then navigate your pictures / movies / music based on the meta data gathered by thej scout.

Kind of like a virtual filesystem and reminds me a lot of KDE's audio:// kioslave. (For anyone that doesn't know, you put in a Audio CD and can then copy off it using the regular file manger, oggs, mp3, flac, wavs etc)

It also has a little task bar component that allows a live search of indexed data.

If everybody is using an alternative to Scout what is it?
