What's the latest Royal Mail deliver till?

Differs all over the country. Lastest I have ever had delivery was 16:45. Was it posted 1st class? I'd be surprised if you get it today.

The majority of Posties start at 0700 and work a 7h 48min day so your mail should arrive before 2pm, however the official time limit is 3pm towns and 4pm for rural areas. Special delivery is guaranteed before 1pm or 9am if you pay extra for the service so if you recieve a normal SD item after 1pm then the sender is entitled to a refund.
 
3pm usually latest, 4pm in some parts. 1st class standard post is currently backed up 1 day due to the jubilee (suprise) should be renamed :s.

You'll be lucky to get the correct day.

I ordered something on the 27th last month, retailer gave 3-5 days for delivery, Tracking stated it was delivered on the 2nd at 8:15am
Item actually arrived Wednesday lunchtime, complete with label stating 'next day delivery' :/
 
Ordered something from Comet 5 days ago and still not arrived today. Parcel force are too busy it seems to deliver to me today.
 
It just arrived. With 2 packets of haribo. :)

I know it's not OCs fault it didn't come yesterday in the first place, but i forgive you anyway. <3

What ever happened to the times when posties worked early?

I remember a time when I'd be eating my breakfast and the post would arrive everyday.

Today I'm lucky if it arrives before I'm eating lunch!

First class post isn't next day post.

There is no guaranteed delivery timeframe.

They say they will "endeavour" to get post to you by next working day (this can include saturdays but won't include bank holidays) but ultimately it can take up to er... 15 working days at which point it is considered lost.

Same goes for "Recorded Delivery" which is a bolt on for first.

Also bear in mind they just rejigged all their rounds to use less people so if you used to have a regular delivery time it can now come much later.


Special Delivery OTOH is guaranteed.

You can ring customer services and hassle them if you have the tracking number.
 
You'll be lucky if it even turns up with RM! Just had a delivery from them to our office to a guy that doesn't work here anymore, I asked him if he'd ordered anything and not changed the address, he said no. So I opened it up and the shipping date on the invoice is 5th December 2010! Thats about 18 months for it to arrive!

Well they can't deliver to everyone early. What do you think they'd be doing for the rest of the day?

I get special delivery post at around 7-8am, regular post at around 10am and any large packages (i.e. not postman) at around midday.
