What's the latest version of mac osx?

I am little confused as I have seen so many different versions

Say I install 10.5.5 then can I just press auto update and get 10.5.6 for free or is it pay only update?

If you have a Mac then it will just update. If you have a hackintosh, which I assume you don't as we can't talk about them here, and you've already been warned about it, then you generally can't use autoupdates as they break the hacks.

I am not talking about hackintosh

I own a PC and a mac

The reason I originally posted about installing mac osx on windows was because I was interested if this was possible. I would buy a legal copy of mac osx.

I just found out my version of mac is 10.4.8, can I press the auto update and will it for free download 10.5.5 Leopard?
