Whats the minimum wattage a PSU needs for a quad core machine

The spec should be of the following:

Intel Quad Core Q6600 2.4Ghz Socket775
Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3L iP35 Socket 775 ATX Motherboard
500GB SATA HDD
4GB Dual Channel RAM
DVD-RW

What sort of power are we looking at here?

What GPU would be running, If you were after 4870x2 I would go with 600w minimum, a lower gpu ie 4870 then 520w would be fine.

Less than you might think. A quality 450w would be fine, dependant on the graphics card of course. The rig in my siggy with 2x 320GB sats hdd's, sata DVDRW, fan controller and five fans draws a maximum of 274w. That while running Orthos and Fur stability test at the same time so i won't get near that wattage in normal usage.
